2 Ways to Configure Netgear Router | 1-866-317-4606

Most of you follow the typical method to configure Netgear router. And, out of this large mass- only 24-25% people are able to setup Netgear router properly.


And, if you don’t belong to this latter group, the following steps will surely help you.


In case, you are trying Netgear Router Setup for the first time- you can never ask for anything better than the following stated procedures.



Method 1: Configure Your Netgear Router


With no more talks, let’s right away get to the troubleshooting of routerlogin net setup:


1. If you have just purchased your router then, unpack it.


2. Now, connect the cable Internet to WAN/ Internet port of the router.


3. Next, connect the LAN cable to one end of the LAN port on router and another end to the PC or laptop.


4. Once it completes, please verify the modem, routers, and computer connection.


Note: In case, you see no lights on router or modem- Power cycle them.


5. Then, open any browser window and type routerlogin.net address in its URL field.

If you can’t see the Netgear router login page, the following steps will help you.


a. Open command prompt and type ipconfig to find Default Gateway address.

b. Type the same IP in URL field and you can see the login window.

6. After you, login Netgear router, go to Wireless settings and put a tick in 2.4GHz and 5.0 GHz checkbox.


7. Assign different SSID for the network and set their compatible channel value for the good network.


8. Choose WPA-2 under security options and click SAVE button.


9. Similarly, make all necessary changes in router settings and click SAVE.


YOUR Netgear router is READY to USE!


In case, you still can’t get through the procedure- try the following unique method.


Method 2: Netgear Router Setup for Static IP Address


Steps to route login setup:


1. Connect your router, modem, and computer (as defined in above method).


2. Note: Make sure your router is connected in correct order.


3. Then, turn off the computer and unplug your DSL modem.


4. Wait for 2 minutes and later, turn the DSL modem ON and power up the router.


5. Finally, turn on the computer and type your default gateway address in the URL field.


6. When prompted, type router login credentials and choose Static IP address.


7. Next, type the information provided (below) in router interface at the time of Netgear router configuration.


a. IP Address:

b. Subnet Mask:

c. Gateway:

d. Primary DNS Server Address: 66.38.0.240

e. Secondary DNS Server Address: 66.38.1.240

8. Lastly, click on "Wireless Settings" to set up your security settings.


After you restart your router, modem, and computer- your Netgear router setup completes and is ready to use.
